The kids had four days off from school... closed due to ice on Friday, and snow on Monday. I did begin my hallway project, but my progress has been slower than expected. Partly due to the children being home, and a lot to do with the fact that we live in 108 year old house. Nothing, and I repeat nothing, is ever easy here. No two walls are the same size, and a wall that looks perfectly fine literally crumbles when you approach it with sand paper... as if to say 'leave me alone'. The good news... this provided me with an opportunity to repair some good sized holes (2' x 2' ish). And now I know I can do it... one layer at a time... and this makes other jobs around the house seem totally approachable. We have previously hired our friend in to this... he's a master... he makes work look like art. But he's pricey, and his services are really outside of our budget right now. He did come to help us get passed some trouble spots in the girls room... and Mark finally finished prepping those walls this weekend, so they are ready for primer! I'm priming the hall now, but still need to sand some trim and our stair rail... as I've decided to paint that, too. We ordered some new balusters, too... and I'm anxious to see it all come together!
